Our commitments

Warranty and terms, in plain English

These are the commitments you can hold us to. They are written out here in full, because you should be able to read them before you put a machine in a box, not after.

No fix, no bill

If we cannot bring your machine back to life, you do not pay for the repair. You pay only the 19 euro return postage, so your machine comes home. The same applies to data recovery: no files means no bill.

Twelve months of warranty on our work

Every joint we solder carries twelve months of warranty. It covers the spot we repaired. If something goes wrong there again within those twelve months, we sort it out with no new bill, shipping included. For comparison: the official channel gives you 90 days.

What it does not cover is a new fault elsewhere on the board. On a machine that has had liquid damage, corrosion can surface later somewhere else, and that is not a fault of the repair. We say that up front, not when it happens.

Parts

Where we replace a module we use original Apple parts: batteries, screens, keyboards, display cables. If an original part is no longer available, which happens on older models, we say so in advance and let you choose. Parts carry twelve months of warranty.

Your own board, and your own files

We do not replace boards unless you explicitly ask us to. You get your own board back, with your own storage. Replaced parts belong to you and travel back with the machine if you want them.

If someone has already been in there

A board another shop has soldered on takes extra work to unpick. We charge 35 euros for that. Say so up front and it appears in the quote rather than as a surprise on the bill.

Shipping

Every parcel goes through bpost insured up to 1,000 euros, out and back. If your machine is worth more, report it with the request and we raise the cover. Transport damage falls under that insurance.

Your data

We do not open your files, we copy nothing anywhere other than the drive that goes back to you, and we only ask for your password when there is genuinely no other way. If you want it on paper, we sign a confidentiality undertaking before you post anything.

Your legal rights

These commitments come on top of what Belgian law gives you anyway. They do not limit those rights. If something does not sit right with you, call first. In practice most of it is settled in one phone call.
